Low power microwaves induce changes in gating function of Trpv4 ion channel proteins


" We found that 4 hrs MW exposures at 1800 MHz and 17 dBm sensitise the response/bioactivity of TRPV4 ion channels to its selective agonist GSK1016790A, compared to the control samples. This response is mainly due to the influx of Ca2+ through TRPV4. These findings provide evidence that these particular non-thermal exposures induce changes in gating function of TRPV4."
