The Effects of Bio-inspired Electromagnetic Fields on Normal and Cancer Cells

The authors propose that pain is a function of the specific sodium channels part of the subcellular structure of peripheral nociceptive sensory nerves, and underline that this is basically an electromagnetic phenomenon. Consequently they suggest that analgesic effects can reached by deactivating sodium channels in nociceptive sensory axons through an applied electromagnetic field, and put neuromodulation (that in fact is an ELF-EMF treatment) as an example of its effectiveness.
