Localized discrete breather modes in neuronal microtubules

They establish that the electromechanical vibrations in microtubules can generate an electromagnetic field in the form of an electric pulse which propagates along microtubules that can serve as signalling pathway in neuronal cells. For the authors these pulses can serve as bit of information, for a subneuronal computation. In general speaks about the possibilities of direct interaction between the local electromagnetic field and the cytoskeletal structures in neurons and their possible significant role.
