Competition between N–H bending vibration and α-helix polarization under 50 Hz magnetic field in SH-SY5Y neuronal-like cells

Exposed cells: Infrared spectroscopy shows increases in Amide I and Amide II vibration bands (more in the former), the authors explain results by an occurrence of an alignment of proteins α-helices in cellular membrane toward the direction of applied magnetic field and a significant increase of Nitrogen-Hidrogen bending vibration in proteins structures.
